The Kidco Leadership in Training (LIT) Program is designed for teens to gain structured training, hands-on experience, and meaningful leadership development, all while having fun.
This program helps build essential skills for the future and provides the credentials needed to work with children at camp and in the community.

For Teens Ages 13 – 17

Teens develop confidence, accountability, and collaboration skills while learning how to lead by example and work effectively within a team.
Participants gain a strong understanding of how children grow, learn, and behave — helping them respond with patience, empathy, and confidence.
The program reinforces safety awareness, introduces first aid fundamentals, and prepares teens to respond responsibly in emergency situations.

Teens learn how to organize, plan, and lead engaging activities that keep younger children active, safe, and supported.
Participants are taught how to foster respectful, inclusive environments and confidently address bullying or exclusion when it arises.
Teens strengthen their communication abilities while learning how to mentor, guide, and lead younger children as camp counselors or community leaders.
The LIT Program features two progressive levels, preparing teens to become camp counsellors and community leaders. Each level runs over two weeks, and teens can complete Level 1 and Level 2 during the summer. Either consecutively or over different sessions for flexibility.
Per Level
(2-week Session)
Teens may complete levels in either July or August, or mix sessions across both months.
For example, a teen could attend:
Level 1 July (weeks of July 6 and 13), and
Level 2 in August (weeks of August 17 and 24)
Families may also choose to complete only some levels this summer and defer Level 2 to summer 2027, if preferred.
Spaces will be limited, so please indicate interest early.
